- Ingress Charter

Ingress
Maybe you're drifting alone in the ocean. Maybe you're stuck pushing paper in an office. Maybe you're traveling at warp, cutting through space like melted butter. But where you are, or what you're doing doesn't matter. What matters is that something is bothering you, gnawing at you, begging you make a decision that will change your life forever. But before you can figure it out, you realize there's something that's bothering you more.

That door.

You could nearly swear that it wasn't there five seconds ago, but now that you see it, really focus on it, you can't look away. Everything about this door seems to reflect your essence, and either immediately or eventually, you are compelled to open it. Impossible to tell what lingers beyond the darkness of the other side, it could be answers to your questions, a journey you need to make, or just a bid for extra time.

Whatever your reasons for entering, keep them in mind, they may be your only way back.

Ingress is a high fantasy, action and introspection themed RPG played in the Dreamwidth community. Characters enter the world of Averde of their own volition, and must face the reasons for doing so in order to return home.

Ingress is a PG13 community and will contain violent themes in it's battle oriented plots.

In addition to the metaplot, Ingress will be a player-focused game. All player actions will have positive or negative consequences, and players will be encouraged to make decisions to move the game forward.

Check out our Playtest comm and test drive a character, or jump straight into what you need to know.

Ingress opens JULY 1st, 2014. Reserves and Apps open June 5th, 2014.

You might have heard of Liber Omne Omnis, but probably not. You may have heard it called The Ominous Library. Either way, you find yourself standing in a gigantic library, filled with a thousand books. This is one small part of Libre Omne Omnis. Like many others before you, you've been drawn to Library that exists between all realities. The books on the shelves contain the stories and histories of every reality and almost every person who ever existed. New books appear almost every day, to be sorted and shelved by the Teachers, an order of scholars dedicated to knowledge and sharing it.

Don't worry. You can come and go, as you please. The books are not mere paper, filled with precious words. They are portals to the realities they tell about. Any world or reality you've ever heard of can be accessed from the Library. Wonderland, Narnia, Neverland? All of these are at your fingertips. Merely take up the book and go adventuring! Beware though. Some realms are sweet places, but others are not. For every Land of Oz, there is a Land of Mordor. The Librarian will not be pleased, if you come back to the Library with Cthulhu on your heels!

The Library itself is not entirely safe. The Librarian does his or her best, but the books are easily opened and not always from the Library side. An unwary Reader is likely to stumble across an infestation of tribbles or find a plate of cookies that say Eat Me. Consume unattended food and drink at your own risk. Some things, despite the best efforts of the staff, have taken up permanent residence in the Library. More than one ghost now haunts the shelves in the horror section. Strange plants, animals, and voices should be reported immediately. More than one person has gone home, after a few hours.

For those wanting to stay, the City of Liber provides free housing and the Library provides free meals and simple clothing. However, there is commerce in the city and every vendor will accept any known coin from the different realities. The people who find their way to the Library and the City of Liber are called Readers. Any Reader is free to start their own business, go to work for someone else, or simply spend their time adventuring.

Be warned! If you choose to engage in criminal activity, the Librarian is not a dusty person who puts away books. The office of Librarian exists to protect the Library and the City from anyone who would endanger it or the Readers. The Librarian is authorized to do whatever is necessary to keep the peace. You will get a trial, with a jury made up of Teachers, but Library justice is swift, if rarely fatal. If you get yourself into trouble in another reality, you are on your own, unless you can convince a friend to help you.

Upon entrance to the Library, every Reader is given a watch-like device, with a small video screen. The device can be used for audio, video, and texting communication. It works everywhere, no matter what the reality a person is in. The device also has a tracking device, making it easier to return to the Library. A Reader can still find their way back, without it, but it will be far more difficult and take more time. If you have any questions or problems, please speak with the Librarian.

Welcome to the afterlife! That's right, you're dead as dead can be. Your body's probably buried or burned or eaten or whatever happened to you back home, and now you're here. Stuck until you overcome whatever it was in your life that's keeping you going after death. Everyone has their own traumas, their own regrets, and their own thing to move past. The fact is, you're all stuck together in the same place: a strange high school, surrounded by inhuman things that those who used to be alive seem to call "NPCs" as though this were some kind of video game. They act like nothing's wrong, but you know the truth, and so do the other deceased around you. The worst part is that even in this place designed for you to make peace with your life and to move on peacefully, it seems like something's gone wrong. Something's gone very wrong.

There are shadows. Amongst the average school life, it seems like these shadows are the exact opposite of average. If they touch you, if they take you that's it. You're screwed, and you're going to become just like one of those NPCs until someone finds a way to get you back. With a mysterious man known only as the Programmer and a reprogrammed NPC operating the Angel Player system with what's very clearly not the best interest of the rest of the humans in mind, how will you overcome the new trials of the afterlife? Will you fight? Will you give in? Or will you just try to stick to that normal life you always wanted?

[community profile] afterliving is a roleplay inspired by the world of Angel Beats! Set in the afterlife, characters will meet other dead people and come face to face with their own mortality whilst trying to save themselves and others from a new threat. Society Cannot Survive Without Gossip and Rumors
Do you know what happens four years after a community finally stops being at war? No one is hiding. No one is just fighting to survive anymore. As people rebuild their lives, they find the foundation of life hasn't truly changed at all. People have friends, jobs, and lives. Now they just can relish in a sense of security they thought they may never have again.

Unexpectedly the generation emerging as adults now have the attention of those around them and, mainly, the attention of those reading the pages of the Witch Weekly. In truth, they have became almost celebrities in their own right in the community without their permission. Some acknowledge this status for themselves or their friends; others try to hide from it and keep their lives private.
In the aftermath, people seem to want to live a quieter life, but those who are watching from the outside don't always want to keep it that way. Those who were students are now adults, trying to build their own life outside of war and the hallowed halls of Hogswarts. But the social pages of the Witch Weekly have gotten more and more popular as the writer began to shine a spotlight on all many. Readers at least have decided to just embrace the new attitude in the media. Gossip is just right the corner at every turn for just about anyone.

With the spotlight on them, no one is safe from being written about in the gossip pages that seem to try to build scandal and rumors on anything they could find.

Now in the year 2003, will you try to hide from the light or embrace it?

In the course of one night, the superhero community was changed.

Only a few short months ago, three of North America’s most loved and respected heroes vanished in a seemingly innocuous investigation of a sinkhole in the Mojave Desert. They went in alone, and they never came back. The hole filled itself in almost as quickly as it had appeared, and left only small traces of a crystalline mineral, of apparently alien origin. Though the mystery has yet to be solved, the nation has mourned, and now life must go on.

The remains of the Alpha Force team look to refill their very prestigious membership. CONDOR is on a hunt for answers. Paranoia rises in the hearts of other heroes - if the Alpha Force could fail, how can they expect to persevere? And all the while, TRIDENT lurks in the depths of the Pacific Ocean, but are they responsible? Or will they just know an opportunity to strike when they see it?

Welcome to [community profile] contrivers.

[community profile] contrivers is a dressing room made exclusively for original characters - that is, characters who are not from a published series of any medium. No application is required to play here and you are welcome to bring as few or many muses as you like. This community is open to original characters of all sorts to include fandom original characters.

Your setting is simple: an average city with the usual accommodations known simply as Nexus. You have stores, arcades, schools, amusement parks and whatever else you might hope to find in a normal city. Whether your character is from here or some other place is entirely up to you. Keep in mind, this setting is generic, simple and completely ignore-able. For the sake of simplicity, this setting will not change regardless of what does or does not happen in your post.

Of course, you are welcome to set your posts in any setting you would like. Whether or not you would like a string of continuity from one post to the other is entirely up to you and your fellow players. Your posts may be open or they may be private, so long as you mark everything appropriately.

Ten years after the events of Persona 4, Japan is a very different place.

Threats from without have led to a push for unity within, as society seeks to retreat to an earlier, simpler time--hammering down all the nonconformists along the way.

Meanwhile, the Japanese government has secretly seized the Kirijo Corporation's Shadow research for "national security purposes", and continues to further it for unknown ends of its own.

And now, in April of 2023, the Chitoku Academy for the Gifted has opened its doors. A government-run school for "future leaders of society", it serves another, greater purpose: gathering those with the potential to wield the power of Persona under one roof.

The disappearance and death of a member of the team at the hands of an unknown Shadow-like entity has left the survivors in shock and mourning. As their adult handlers scramble to glean what they can about this silver-eyed being, the students must struggle with the question of whether to flee the dangers that lie ahead or face them head-on...

Harmonize is an OC-only Persona 3/4-compliant RP. All players are welcome, regardless of Persona knowledge!

Open a door. Any door, anywhere, leading anyplace. If you're most people, what's on the other side will be predictable, make sense. But if you're lucky, you may find yourself stepping into someplace else entirely.

All Inclusive is a prose-based, pan-fandom roleplaying game with a very fickle hotel at its nexus. Through a network of many and changing doors, characters find themselves able to hop easily between their home universe, the Nexus Hotel, and endless fictional universes — That is, if the hotel allows it.

We're a friendly group of adults who love collaborative writing, and we're always looking for more players to join in the fun. See the links below for more information on the game and how to apply.

Ashwick Grove, Connecticut
.
Present Day. Small town America.
Where apple pies were practically invented.

Three months earlier, the nation was shocked by the discovery that their nations leaders (the president of the United States) was a thing of legends: a vampire. Since then, many vampires around the world have come out of the coffin, so to speak. No longer hiding in the shadows of the dark, lurking about. And all thanks to the invention of synthetic blood that allows vampires to feed without feeding on humans, animals, or causing any harm in anyway.

While the rest of the world seems to be up in arms about such a shocking reveal, Ashwick Grove has moved forward as if nothing happened. Vampires are still seen as creatures of stories. In this small college town in Connecticut, there are more important things to focus on. Like the towns football game, gardening, bake sales, contests of all kinds, festivals, and just enjoying life in a picturesque, tight knit community.

Little do the citizens of this cozy neighborhood realize that vampires aren't so far off. And even more, that those that must feed on blood to survive are not the only 'fairy tale/nightmare' creatures lurking about their wholesome community. In fact, many fail to realize that their friends and neighbors might not be who they seem to be.

Welcome to Ashwick Grove.

Either way wedding bells are in your future, but how long will the honeymoon period last? That’s for you to decided. After all, who said marriage was all bliss?
